Seven lots of Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets USP (0. 18 mg/0. Index 035 mg, 0. 215 mg/0. 035 mg, 0. 25 mg/0. 035 mg) have been recalled by Glenmark Generics Inc. because of an error in packaging, which could result in the daily regimen being incorrect for these oral contraceptives, putting women [index] at risk for index an unintended pregnancy. The medications, Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets index, are used as oral contraceptives, in order to prevent pregnancy in women. The products involved in the recall were distributed to wholesalers and retail pharmacies nationwide between September 21, 2011, and December 30, 2011. The specific lots of Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets have been recalled due to a packaging error. Select blisters were rotated 180 degrees within the card, causing the weekly tablet orientation to be reversed, and making the lot number and expiration date visible only on the outer pouch.
